September Yogi Surprise Box – Love of Yoga

One of my favourite times of the month is when I can come home and find a little purple Yogi Surprise box waiting for me! It is always filled with so many hand-picked items with the yogi or health nut in mind. This months September YS box is full of everything I love, and celebrates National Yoga Month – so you know it’s going to be gooooood 😉

The items in this box are meant to enhance our practice and help ground us in this transition to chilly autumn days. For the love of yoga, let’s get to it!

The best part is opening the box and just seeing past the Packing List at all the goodies inside. Knowing you get to pull each one out, one by one. It’s like a never ending birthday present, but tailored to my lifestyle! Right off the bat I saw food… brownies to be specific… brownie BRITTLE to be reaaallly specific!! Yes, Yogi Surprise, you know me too well.

You know it’s going to be a good box when you kick it off with Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle! I’m not going to lie, I opened these immediately and started munching on them. WOW. SO. YUMMY. I had to stop myself from eating the whole bag and quickly packed it away, saving it for my Teacher Training this weekend as a good power up snack.

Underneath the Brownie Brittle was a beautiful geometric designed yoga strap from Yoga Design Lab and Scentuals Yoga Mat Spray. Super handy to keep in my Yoga bag for my Teacher training as well. We started using straps like this one so it definitely came at the right time and in an extra long length. Also, it’s so pretty! Next was a 100% beeswax candle in a cute tin from Barefoot Lake. It has a yummy lavender and peppermint scent and it is going to accompany me the next time I take a bath. It is meant to help slow down and soothe creating a tranquil space between body and self.

I kept digging through the box to find an aromatherapy incense sampler made from a blend of natural essential oils and hand rolled by local village women in South India. 25% of Auromere’s incense profits go towards supporting education in rural India, so go check them out!! Also included at the bottom of the box was a book by called Yoga To The Rescue: Ageless Beauty. It talks about some key poses that help keep the body rejuvenated, somewhat slowing down time. Such a handy little book! I always love when there is food and something to read while I eat the food in my Yogi Surprise Box hehe.

I went through my Yogi Surprise Lifestyle box, but the fun isn’t over yet! I also got the Yogi Surprise Jewelry box! A cute little box that has two pieces and a snack.

Opened it up and saw my beautiful friend Alexzandra Peters on the insert. SO that was awesome already. Just after I spotted a gorgeous mala, with deep and dark colours I knew I would love right away.

Made from African Turquoise and an accompanying Jade beaded bracelet. What a gorgeous set, and the quality feels incredible! Love the matching tassel as well, the pop of colour is stunning.

May Yogi Surprise – Creative Divine Mother

So this is my favourite day of the month, when that purple little Yogi Surprise box makes it to my door! It’s also Arlo’s fave time – he is always so curious and he will wake up from any nap to come play with whatever surprise came. This month’s box is full of positive and inspiring vibes to uplift the mood.

I noticed right away the Lilac & Willow Soy Candle and knew that it was going to be a good, relaxing box. You can also catch me at the candle aisle of any home store so I was in love immediately. I haven’t seen anything like this candle, it had floral petals and sage sticking out of the candle amongst other things, like a pretty little candle bouquet. It acts as a pretty scented candle but also helps cleanse the energies of any room as a purifying smudge. With hints of Cedar, it smells so heavenly – just as it looks. Mina had to have a smell too. Warning: today’s post features extra, too much, a lot of cats photobombing – they just wouldn’t leave me alone 😛 (Not Complaining)

Speaking of lovely scents and clingy cats, the Scentered “Be Happy” citrusy, refreshing body balm was so nice to see. I will definitely be keeping this one in my backpack for before classes. I put this on in the morning and I was smelling the pink grapefruit smell all day, how wonderful! I love the packaging too – Arlo wouldn’t let me take a peaceful picture of this one though, you can see he had to make his cameo!

There was also a yummy post yoga snack waiting for me in the box, a Nutrawbar Whole Fig Bar. I will be saving this one for later but am super excited to try it out. There was also a Joco Botanical Yogi Chakra body bar. This one was a sacral chakra bar, which governs your sense of pleasure, vitality, and connection to others.

I also was greeted with some wonderful cards from Tree Free Greetings, which I can’t wait to hand out to my friends.Each card has been printed on environmentally friendly paper made from materials like bamboo, hemp, bagasse, and consumer recycled papers. The designs on them are so pretty too!

My most favourite from this whole box (apart from the candle, just because I love candles) is these Mindful mandala Cards. I know Adult colouring books have had a very viral take off in the last year, and I can’t help but fall in love with these beautiful mandala designs. I get to colour them all in (ok, maybe I will share one or two), and even create my own at the end, how cute.

Moving on to the Yogi Surprise jewelry box, this month was a definite surprise. I have never seen anything like the mala that came in this box. It has a gorgeous silk tassel attached to the bottom and the colours were warm lovely hues of pinks and oranges. The matching bracelet is so pretty too. I love how there are so many details in it, the amount of beads, and types, and how you can wrap it around as a bracelet, or actually where it as a mini necklace too.

Arlo reeeeaaallly loved this one 😉

January Future Self Yogi Surprise box!

I think this January Yogi Surprise box has won my heart! The jewelry box to be specific… why you may ask? Well, this box contained the most yummiest organic Vegan truffles from Missionary Chocolates I have ever had. I would buy this box over and over again just to have these truffles! Seriously that worth it!

One was a salted caramel truffle, and the other dark chocolate. The point is, they were both so tasty I almost forgot there was jewelry in this box too and not just chocolate treats! I received a beautiful rose quartz pendant and matching bracelet. This bracelet was one of the most beautiful and delicate pieces I have got in the box. It was so pretty I put it on immediately and even forgot to take it off before bed, haha! SO pretty!

This months box theme focused on “Future Self” providing the tools to refresh our spirit by detoxifying, purifying, healing, and renewing both the body and mind. What a perfect start to the new year! Especially with BATH STUFFZ! Loved this Pacifica ‘Lotus garden’ soap! It is all natural and look at how gorgeous the bar is! It looks like little sparkle flakes embedded into this clear bar.

I also found some Pacifica Detox wipes, in such a lovely scent. Kale, cucumber & mangosteen infused! Now that is a scent I have never heard of before, but it is so refreshing! these will come in handy for yoga classes and traveling! I also got a wrist compression sleeve which is great for when you do handstand or arm balances a lot. If you find you have weak wrist and have to warm them up a lot before doing arm balances then this sleeve is probably a good idea. It keeps your wrist in place and almost ‘together’ while you practice!

Next up is from one of my favourite skin care brands DERMA-E <3 I discovered this brand through Yogi Surprise actually when I received an amazing eye cream. These products are incredible and 100% vegan! All natural stuff goes into this face cream and it smells so yummy too, like cucumbers. FRESH! I have been using this every night and it has a unique tightening feeling. It is very thin which I like but VERY hydrating. I know it says night time cream but I have actually been using this DAY & NIGHT because it is just that thin and hydrating. It really does pull your skin and make it tighter too! My dry, fine wrinkles are already disappearing, it’s like magic, really! SUPER RECOMMEND THIS CREAM TO EVERYONE!!!

I have been building up my yogi books collection and so far Yogi Surprise has given me two wonderful books! My first from them was “The Little Red Book Of Yoga Wisdom” which was such a cute and fast read. The Book I received in Januarys box is more informative – “The Good Living Guide to Medicinal Tea”. I’m not much of a tea drinker but this book actually focuses on more than just the benefits of herbs for tea. You really get to know more about each plant and the benefits it has to the body, a lot of these herbs are things you can cook with too so it is always good to know just what you are putting in your body and how amazing it is for you!

November Yogi Surprise featuring OM PHONES!!

I have been seeing sneak previous of this months Yogi Surprise all over, and one of the items that really caught my eye are the fantabulous OM PHONES!! These are super unique mala headphones that soothe your mind and nourish your soul. They are made from sustainable materials and the sounds quality is killer. I will definitely be taking these on my holiday because they are the cutest headphones ever!!! I got the red tassel mala phones but I did see a beautiful blue version as well! The ear buds are super comfy and soft in the ear, I can see myself wearing these for a while during a workout.

Last month I received an awesome yoga mat strap my Manduka, which I was thrilled for because I finally had something to wrap up my Manduka mat in! Coincidence, or does Yogi Surprise know me too well? Either way, this month I got a certified organic Manduka yoga mat spray – you can tell it is a high quality spray that won’t degrade you mat over time. I always find there is something super yummy smelly in the box, and this month it was the Aura Cacia Chakra balancing roll on scent. This is one of my favourites in the box, it allows you to roll on without having to spray anything. The scent is a calming earthy floral aroma, love it!

This whole time I was going through the box I was wearing the first thing I pulled out which were SOCK – I FREAKING LOVE SOCKS! These Toe Talk manta Socks are made for practice with their grippy leafy design at the bottom and they have a personal mantra printed on the top. My socks said Find Your Zen – ah, yes I will socks… yes I will.

Next comes our yummy Balance Superfood shot, containing half a days worth of fruit and veggies in such a little cute green bottle. I am saving this one for after a yoga practice, will let you know how it goes but I read the ingredients and it cant get any more natural than this. PURE fruit and veggies with no sugar or chemicals added. HOW YUM! <3 There is also a Buddha Teas Organic Zen Cleanse blend in a Hibiscus and cranberry flavour which I have yet to try, but like all Buddha Tea products – you can’t go wrong.

The surprises are not done yet as I still have the Yogi Surprise Jewelry box. I love this cute little box the most because there is always a yummy treat inside too, and this one had a limited batch Apple Pie virgin chocolate bar from Raaka. I had one of these in a previous box – it was salted dark chocolate, so I was excited to see one in this months box too. I know it’s cheesy but I personally love the packaging on this bar. These are hand crafted in Brooklyn and you can see and tatse the love that goes into each one. Lovely Bean-to-bar magic.

On to the jewelry! a beautiful matching set of beads, one bracelet and one necklace. The wood and fire agate beads on the necklace hang on a fine chain and are strung in a line – super simple. They are a warm ambery colour, perfect for this fall. Perfect for this months gratitude theme!
